Vilamoura Equestrian Centre

The Vilamoura Equestrian Centre has become one of the top equestrian facilities in Europe. In 2013 the Moura family took over the management of the venue making it the best equestrian centres in Portugal. Two world class events have been hosted in Vilamoura for the past few years, the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour and the Champions Tour.

In 2020 and due to the COVID pandemic restrictions, Vilamoura was selected to host the qualifying events for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Vilamoura was the only venue in Europe that could host outdoor horse jumping events in October and November. The great weather conditions, organisation and top facilities made this event a huge success earning it the distinction of “Award Excellence” by Horse Republic. Some of the best show jumpers in the world participated in the events with a total of 350 riders and over 1200 horses.

Equestrian Centre Restaurant: Il Cavaliere

The Il Cavalieri Restaurant is open during major equestrian events. This amazing italian restaurant is managed by the same owners of the famous Thai Beach Club (Falésia Beach) and Limoni Restaurant (Quinta do Lago). The restaurant has a long terrace overlooking the arena, a great place to have lunch and watch all the excitement. The events are usually free entrance and anyone can just come over and have a meal or a drink at the venue. The restaurant is open during the events closing at around 5pm each day.
