The Portuguese schools are closed for the summer, and from the second week of July, things really start to pick up. During this month, expect crowds, queueing, higher hotel rates, and insane traffic. Along with the magnificent outdoors, Vilamoura has a lively nightlife, with bars and restaurants open until late at night, the perfect setting for the young and the restless.

What to wear in July

Lightweight clothing, light colours, sandals and a lot of suncream is essential. July can be uncomfortably hot and you will probably be spending a lot of time in the water, so beachwear is important. Nighttime is also warm and around the marina the usual dress code is casual chic in the summer.
